Tropic Star
Details
Designed by Alan Payne and built by Mick Nesbitt in approx. 1959 in Balmain, NSW Tropic Star has a very solid double planked hardwood carvel hull with Spotted Gum frames and Oregon deck structure. The layout is set up for comfortable cruising with massive seating areas. The helm is to port and then a doorway leads down to a large enclosed saloon with double beds each side and movable table. At the forward end of the saloon is a doorway to a head area with a sink/electric toilet and cupboard storage. The deck hardware is classic bronze in style and is either original or restored. Most of the under-floor area is accessible which gives access to the engine fuel tanks and water tanks, rudder, steering gear and various electrical and plumbing systems. There is a very large wooden folding table on centreline which has been beautifully built and finished. The flooring panels have all been replaced in 2021 with teak & celery inlay. All weather covers have been replaced by Decca Trimming in 2022.Details
