Cascade
Details
Designed by Angelo Lavranos and built by the renowned Wilson Brothers at Port Cygnet, Tasmania, Cascade is a 56’9” yacht built in 1983 and one of Australia’s most significant modern wooden yachts – and at launch, the largest post-war ocean-racing yacht built in Tasmania.
Cold-moulded in Huon Pine and King Billy Pine using West System epoxy and dynel sheathing she is exceptionally strong, quiet, and durable. Her pedigree is well documented, and she has been owned and maintained by only five careful custodians since new.
A proven blue-water cruiser and racer Cascade has completed multiple ocean passages, Sydney–Hobart races, and international regattas, with a reputation for speed, balance, and exceptional downwind performance. The cutter rig offers versatility and ease of handling for short-handed sailing.
Below, she offers comfortable accommodation for extended cruising with generous storage, a well-appointed galley, and a warm, practical interior finished to a high standard. Extensive recent refit work, including a new teak deck and modern systems ensures she is ready to sail away.
Cascade represents a rare opportunity to acquire a world-class Australian-built wooden yacht – fast, elegant, immensely capable and highly respected.
