Trim is an Einar Ohlson-designed 35’ yawl. She was built in 1961 in Gothenburg, Sweden, in the Ohlson Brothers boatyard. She is built of Honduras Mahogany, with White Oak frames. Originally owned by Dan Thompson, and named Metero, the boat cruised the mid-Pacific and Hawaiian Islands extensively through the 60s. Eventually the boat changed ownership and was sailed out of Seattle through a succession of owners. She was renamed Trio and then Refuge. William and Marcia Timms purchased her in 1982 and sailed her to Alaska, for which a large canvas cockpit tent was fitted. The next year they moved to Melbourne and shipped the boat to Australia.

The boat was sold to David Row in Adelaide, and due to extenuating circumstances, she sat on her mooring for many years in a state of disrepair. In 1997 she became badly damaged when a power boat lost control and rammed her stern. Mass Hannen, a Swedish boatbuilder from Adelaide then purchased her from the insurance agency. He commenced a restoration and raced her to great success out of Adelaide for many years. In the early 2000s Hannen sold the boat to Greg Campbell, who renamed her Trim, after Matthew Flinders cat. She continued to cruise the Australian coastline, completing a bi-centenary circumnavigation, and extensively sailing around Kangaroo Island and surrounds.

The boat is a delight to sail and surprisingly fast through the water. She has had several major upgrades in recent years, and is perfectly suited to those individuals looking for a boat with the capability to explore.
