BASS STRAIT SUMMER
JUNE 2022
We
set off at dawn in January 2022 aboard Storm Bay, a 54’ traditional
Tasmanian fishing ketch. The weather was perfect, and Bass Strait was as calm
as ever.
After overnighting at Wilson’s Prom, we proceeded down to the iconic Kent Group. We spent an idyllic few days exploring the islands and were met by our friends aboard Gina, our Wooden Boatshop Deal Island 50.
Together, we ventured further south to Killiecrankie, catching pike instantly upon arrival. It was a wonderful week of seafaring, and we returned to Port Phillip rested and refreshed.

One of our favourite places to visit is The Kent Group, a cluster of islands in Bass Strait, north-west of the Furneaux Group in Tasmania. Deal Island is pristine and beautiful, and we love walking to the lighthouse, which is the highest lighthouse in the Southern Hemisphere!
