Rosebud

Details

26’ Rosebud was built with Australian Kauri in the 1950s by Cayzer’s Boat Builders in Queenscliff for Lewis Ferrier. As a commercial fishing vessel Rosebud worked primarily out of Queenscliff but was also known to have ventured as far west as South Australia. Rosebud had a long working life, and up until 2009 she was registered as a fishing craft. Eventually she underwent a restoration, including new Celery Top ribs, Iroko decking, Cedrella linings and a cabin.

Rosebud is currently moored at Queenscliff and utilised as a pleasure craft. She carries a Yanmar 3JH3E engine, has a beam of 9’6” and draft of 3’. She was utilised as the vessel to facilitate access for movie stars during the filming of On the Beach in 1959. Rosebud is perfectly suited to those interested in owning a Couta Boat with local origins.
